Black Hills Flyfishers

An outstanding turnout of interested anglers found their way down to the Journey Museum on
December 8th, for the regular membership meeting of the Black Hills Flyfishers.
Of course, the meeting got off to a flying start, as wine, beer, and hors d’oeuvres in abundance were
served to all in attendance in the Journey’s lobby.
Fortunately, this little social mixer will proceed every future meeting, as the incredibly-wise BHFF Board
of Directors has decided that beer is a legitimate club expense. Naturally, the editors of this fine rag
have argued that point for years, but sometimes the power of the press is not all that one would expect.
In any case, the mixer was great fun, and the subsequent program was outstanding. Dave Gamet and
Hans Stephenson presented a terrific program on aquatic insects in the Black Hills, including when and
where they hatch, and photos of several of their favorite imitations. It was solid motivation to get back to
the tying bench.
Thanks to Dave and Hans for a great show. And don’t forget the mixer at the next meeting. Be sure to
come early though, ‘cause Buchholz is like an Electrolux around the beer and hors d’oeuvres line, and
it would be a shame to miss out.
